More Reactions Trail Pete Edochie’s Handshake With Ooni Of Ife 

A handshake between actor Pete Edochie and Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife and symbol of Yoruba culture has sparked a debate among some Nigerians.

The Nollywood legend is a red cap chief in Igbo land and won acclaim over his role as Okonkwo in the famous novel Things Fall Apart which unveiled the story of Igbo culture. The novel written by the late Chinua Achebe projects the claim that the Igbo bow to no one except their ”Chi” (God).

Instead of the handshake others deposed that Pete should have prostrated since he was before a Yoruba King.

They added that Pete Edochie gave the the Ooni of Ife, the kind of handshake reserved for an Igbo king. Others also claimed that the Ooni of Ife was not complaining and understood the culture of the igbo man.

The argument has gathered over 20,000 tweets on social media. GWG.ng reports these tweets;
