Second Term Signal As Tinubu Gets GCFR Medal From Buhari
The president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been bestowed with the nation’s highest honour, Grand Commander of the Federal Republic, GCFR at an investiture ceremony that is currently ongoing in the Presidential Villa.
The title of GCFR comes with every president and is normally conferred by the outgoing president.
The vice-president-elect, Senator Kasshim Shettima was also honoured with the award of Grand Commander of the Niger, GCON.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC are among those attending the function holding at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
Meanwhile, the response of Tinubu in kissing the GCFR medal twice was drawing observation on social media that the former Lagos State governor would be running for a second term.
Twitter user,
However, critics of the president-elect were vehement in pouring out their angst just as his supporters celebrated the landmark of the award of the GCFR to Tinubu.

Everything about this award for the conferment of national honours (GCFR & GCON) to Tinubu & Shettima respectively, is a farce. It makes a mockery of Nigeria. National Honours are awarded after an achievement, not before. Unless we’re counting election rigging as a feat.

The second part is that at least, such awards should only be awarded when the electoral process is duly completed and all court cases are concluded. The fact that something has been done wrongly doesn’t mean such should continue. Nigeria is now a theatre of absurdities.

What baffled me is how disjointed his history which they played was. Man got no straight history.. Nigeria is indeed a crime scene

GCFR is never awarded but assumed automatically a person is sworn in…

There’s nothing impossible for Nigeria to do. But God has won the battle for the citizens already

Election rigging has become part of our constitution from all indications
