Buhari departs Abuja for Daura

Amid controversy over his legacy in Abuja in the past eight years, the immediate past President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has departed Abuja on his way to Daura following his handover of presidential power to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

GWG.ng reports that the former president departed the Eagle Square, Abuja for the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, immediately Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima were sworn-in  as President and Vice President on Monday.

Before his departure, Buhari formally handed over flags to the new president.

Among those waiting his arrival at the Katsina Airport are some of his closest political associates among whom are former minister of humanitarian affairs, Hajia Saddiya Umar Farouq, former minister of state for Niger Delta, Sharon Ikeazor among many others.

Buhari had  a dinner in the State House Banquet Hall on Sunday, bid Nigerians bye bye.

He said he would  retire to his hometown to take care of his cows.

Buhari will, on Tuesday in Daura, be hosted at a Durbar ceremony as a mark of welcome.

While he receives hospitable and warm reception in his native Daura which he pulled a lot of federal presence and projects, the rest of the country is beginning to subject the eight-year regime of Muhammadu Buhari to harsh criticism as he departed from Abuja.

GWG.ng reports that the controversy over the Buhari era is beginning to be trailed with the controversial term of Buhari Survivor with some Nigerians hailing themselves as survivors of the legacies of the former president.

However, President Bola Tinubu in his inaugural address differed saying that history will be kind to the former president.
