Delta Celebrates Okowa As Ika Nation Welcomes Former Governor
Dignitaries from across Delta State are in Boji Boji, Owa Delta State at the homecoming of Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa by the Ika Nation following his two terms as governor of Delta State.
GWG.ng reports that the reception under the chairmanship of Hon Nduka Irabor is being attended by among others Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his wife, the penultimate governor of the State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Senator James Manager, Hon Ndudi Elumelu, the minority leader of the House of Representatives, the immediate past deputy governor of the state, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, his predecessor as deputy governor, Chief Benjamin Elue, members of the Delta State House of Assembly, the former members of the State Executive Council led by the dean of Commissioners, Sir Fidelis Tilije among others.
The newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kindsley Emu, the Senior Political Adviser to the governor, Senator Emmanuel Aguaravwodo and also Mr Mideno Bayagbon.
Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor on his part sent two generals to represent him.
Speaking as the ceremony commenced, Hon Irabor, a former member of the House of Representatives commended Senator Okowa for his sterling performance in office saying that celebrating him was very apt.
He also commended the wife and particularly the children of the former governor for their conduct saying that they did not disgrace their family while their father was governor.
One of the leading musicians in the area, Akwete is presently entertaining the massive crowd.
