Mixed Reactions Trail Ekiti-Based Chef’s Attempt To Break Hilda Baci’s Record

Mixed Reactions are trailing the move by Damilola Adeparusi, an Ekiti State chef to break Hilda Baci’s record for the longest cooking marathon, set in Lekki, Lagos State, at 100 hours barely a month ago.

GWG.ng reports that Adeparusi has given herself a target of 120 hours to beat Hida Baci’s yet to be certified record.

Some Netizens have dragged Adeparusi, saying her intention is an attempt to ruin Hilda’s success. They assert that a record cannot be contested until a year after it has been broken.

On the contrary, others argue that Guiness World Record has not announced Hilda as the official record holder so Adeparusi is free to attempt to break it even praising her for striving to accomplish such a tremendous task.

However, it is alleged that to break the Guinniess world record, an application is to be made that takes 12 weeks to be accepted. Speculations as to whether Adeparusi made an application before attempting to break the record that’s less than 12 weeks Hilda’s attempt has also stirred debate.

Meanwhile, Chef Dammy who cooked for over 20 hours turned off her gas to pick beans before going offline last night. Hashtags #hilda baci trending with over 25,000 tweets and #chef dammy trending with about 25,000 tweets have swarmed twitter. GWG.ng reports these tweets;

Hilda Baci broke a long standing cooking record with so much fanfare and it still hasn’t even been certified by Guinness but a certain Nigerian Chef is now aiming to break it Is that the only cooking record that needs to be broken? Why are Nigerians so jealous and unoriginal?

Your Auntie Uju@Ms ObianujuA

No hate to the chef Dammy but she will fail simply because she’s not adequately prepared for it. You cannot wake up and decide to cook for 120 hours, you need preparation physically, mentally, financially among others. Don’t underestimate what Hilda Baci was able to achieve

Dami’ Adenuga@Dami’ Adenuga

Adeparusi Damilola, a student from Ekiti, can’t attempt to break Hilda Baci’s “record” because it hasn’t been confirmed yet. An attempt to break a record can’t be made until 1 year after it was set. She also needs to have applied atleast 12 weeks before

Napaul@LifeOfNapaul

Just get out from my sight!! Would you do this if Hilda didn’t do it?! Y’all just want to copy your way to fame. Nonsense!!

Sagacious@OyiboChijoke

Chef Dammy and her WITCHCRAFT Indian woman Cooked her fellow Indians didn’t compete with her. Nigerian woman cooked her fellow Nigerians started competing with her. Where was this lady before Hilda Baci came up with the idea of cooking for hours?…

Nwo-Diali@Manlike ED

The only record Chef Dammy is trying to break is that of the Indian Chef. As at today, Guinness World Record has not recognized Hilda Baci, therefore, she has no record to her name. So let Dammy cook. Go girl!

Prof@OOlusore

Chef Hilda Baci represented Nigeria. Chef Dammy is also representing Nigeria. Best Wishes!

Juju@Naijasinglegirl

You see that Ekiti girl already trying to overthrow Hilda Baci record? Nigerians are ambitious people but it’s sickening how we exeute ours maliciously. It you post that you got an abroad job & it goes viral, at least 2 Nigerians would email your company to request for your job

Elvis@ElvisVibz

A Liberian Chef attempted to break Hilda Baci’s record and Nigerians were furious and kicked against it. Why is it suddenly okay for the Ekiti Chef to do the same thing?? Nigerians shaa
