Tinubu Cheerful In First Public Meeting With Ambode In Four Years

Four years of public political separation between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his estranged political godson Mr Akiwunmi Ambode came to an end on Thursday as the president told him that he was glad to see him again back in his fold.

Tinubu spoke during a reception organized for him by the Lagos State Government in the course of his visit to the state.

GWG.ng reports that the reception which had Vice President Kashim Shettima had all the all three former governors of Lagos State in attendance. It was the first time that Tinubu, Mr Babatunde Fashola, Ambode and the incumbent governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu would be seen under the same roof in a public function.

GWG.ng further reports that Ambode fell out with the Tinubu camp after he was stopped from going for a second term in 2019.

Since then he has been largely been outside political activities in the state.

Speaking at the reception Tinubu while pledging to make sure that Nigeria works again and ensure the prosperity of all Nigerians said:

“We have to make Nigeria work again. You will see reward in this country, we will prosper for the sake of our children and the future of Nigeria. I’m glad to see Ambode. Thank you Akin!”

The president further called on all governors irrespective of party affiliation to work together with his administration to push forward the government’s agenda of laying a solid foundation for the future generation.
