Revealed: Political Plot To Make Plateau Ungovernable For Gov Mutfwang

A politically inspired plot to make Plateau State ungovernable for Governor Caleb Mutfwang is the reason for the spate of killings in Mangu Local Government Area of the state, Senator Napoleon Bali has said.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, Senator Bali, a retired Air Vice Marshall said that the killings in Mangu which is the local government area of Governor Mutfwang were triggered immediately the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared him governor.

GWG.ng had also reported that the killings have been targeted at Mangu and in Riyom, the base of the deputy governor.

Speaking in an interview on Arise News Television’s The Morning Show, Senator Bali said that whereas Mangu and Riyom, had been largely not had much experience of insecurity and killings but that the tide changed after the election.

“I can tell you fully and you can invite the governor, the threat to make Plateau State ungovernable for him, he personally confided in me and I thought it was a joke, because if you look at Mangu all these years had survived the insecurity.”

“Indeed, all along Mangu had been enjoying some relative peace and then suddenly, Governor Caleb Mutfwang who is from Mangu Local Government, becoming a governor elected on the plateau and then suddenly the people of Mangu are now having all these problems.

“So, I can tell you that the issue of Mangu, the killing and the persistent killing in Mangu that there is some politics in it because the governor was threatened and you as journalists you can take it up with him. I think he has some suspects and at the appropriate time if Mr President orders him, he would be able to tell the security chiefs those he is suspecting

“I think for us to checkmate these politically instigated killings in Mangu, I think our president needs to be involved. He has to direct the NSA, because militarily you can use force but these non-state actors will melt into the population and then come again,” Senator Bali said in asserting the plot to make Plateau ungovernable for Governor Mutfwang.
