APC Leaders Mum Amid Reports Of Adamu’s Resignation
There was uncertainty on Sunday night over reports that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu has decided to resign.
A couple of national officers who ordinarily should know of the development were out of reach as GWG.ng sources said they had resolved to put themselves away from the media.
While there is no evidence of the resignation, it was gathered that normally reliable sources confirmed the development.
Adamu had been under pressure to resign as national chairman given what many claimed as his earlier opposition to the emergence of President Bola Tinubu as candidate o the f the party ahead of the national convention penultimate June.
Senator Adamu gained national attention when he sought to push Senator Ahmad Lawan as the candidate of the party, a move that was seriously challenged by other national officers.
Even more before then, Adamu had vowed to punish President Tinubu after he in the celebrated Emiloakan statement vowed to punish Tinubu over his insinuation that he helped Buhari to power after the former president contested several times and failed.
If confirmed it would be no surprise that Adamu had decided to resign given the recent pressure on him from within APC.                                                               Â
