The police in Lagos have launched a manhunt for a musician once signed to the label of an international music star after he shot and killed the customer of a bar in the Fadeyi area of Lagos who came to settle a quarrel between him and the operators of the bar over unpaid bills.

It was gathered that a birthday party that was ongoing at the bar at 38 Shiro Street, Fadeyi at the time was disrupted on account of the fracas allegedly orchestrated by the musician.

Sources alleged that the fracas at the weekend broke out when the receptionist reported to management of the nightclub that the musician had failed to pay the N52,000 he owed.

As he made to leave the premises he was, however, restrained by the bouncers who insisted that he must settle his bill.

The argument with the bar operators it was gathered degenerated into a fracas during which the musician ran out and picked up a gun inside his Mercedes Benz car that was parked outside the bar and used it to threaten the bar staff.

It was at that point that Kehinde Adesanwo who was also a customer at the bar sought to broker peace and it was in the process of separating the warring parties that the musician fired three shots one of which hit Adesanwo in the abdomen and gushed out his bowel.

The musician then fled from the scene, abandoning his black Mercedes Benz with plate number  JKRD 70 HS.

Policemen from the Onikan division who were alerted, visited the scene who reportedly recovered eight expended shells of 9.9mm ammunition.

The remains of the peacemaker have meanwhile been deposited at  Military Hospital, Yaba.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hudenyin confirmed the incident as he disclosed that the police were on the manhunt for the fleeing musician following the incident that arose from the quarrel.
