New Video Shows Prison Officials Promised Emefiele Safety Over DSS Operatives

A newly emerged video clip has revealed that operatives of the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCS gave a hesitant assurance to Godwin Emefiele that they would safely take him out of the court premises despite the lurking presence of menacing Department of State Services, DSS operatives.

The scene in one of the offices of the Ikoyi, Lagos Federal High Court showed Emefiele apprehensive of his safe passage out of the court premises.

The NCS officials, however, kept on reassuring him telling him, “don’t worry, don’t worry.”

Emefiele who was shadowed by a female relative hesitated but was repeatedly urged on by the NCS officials.

However, GWG.ng reports that the assurance of the NCS operatives was of no meaning as the DSS operatives brusquely had their way and took Emefiele away.

Meanwhile, the action of the DSS in violating the court order and doing so within the court premises has been the main focus of most newspapers of the country with the agency coming in for special condemnation.

Lawyers, civil society activists and many others have condemned the action of the DSS saying it as a desecration of the temple of justice and the rule of law.
