Nigerian Student Graduates With Longest Name In UK

A Nigerian man with eight names recently received his degree from Kent University in the UK, making a hit with having the longest name on record in a university certificate.

The man’s name is Boluwatife Oluwasemilore Oluwadamilola Oyekunle Ayanfeoluwa Emmanuel Michael Oladele.

In a video posted on TikTok by the University of Kent, Boluwatife was named the student with the longest graduation name. The closing ceremony read out each of Boluwatife’s eight names, all of which are listed on the graduation certificates.

Until he reached the eighth name, Oladele, the person leading the ceremony called out each name one after the other. This indicates that all eight names are listed on his certificate and likely on all of his paperwork because they were highlighted during his UK graduation.

The student came out in joy when his name was announced, and he immediately made his way to the stage to pick up his diploma. The pronunciation of the Yoruba names by the Oyinbo guy captured the attention of many Nigerians who watched the video on TikTok.

GWG.ng reports that Nigerians especially of the Yoruba stock are normally given a handful of names at birth.
