By GWG Football Editor
France confirmed superiority over Brazil in the women’s football game as the female national team defeated the South Americans by two goals to one in the ongoing Women’s World Cup holding in Australia.
GWG.ng reports that it is the fifth straight victory of the Europeans over Brazil in their most recent matches and it extends total defeats by France over Brazil to six in their ten last engagements with four draws.
The defeat left Brazil with three points from two matches and France moving with four points following the draw earlier with Jamaica.
GWG.ng reports that Brazil took the lead in the 17th minute through Le Sommer who equalled the record earlier set by Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala by scoring in three successive world cup finals.
Brazil, however, reset the game when the country equalized in the 58th minute through Debinha.
However, France took the lead in the 83rd minute after well built captain Renard pushed in a powerful heard from the edge of the penalty box to put the Europeans ahead.
France showed superiority in most departments of the game with superiority with 19 out of which seven were on target against Brazil which left bad echoes for the South Americans in the Women’s World Cup tie. The Brazilians who were oppressed in the air by the taller French managed 11 shots out of which only two were on target.
Jamaica who earlier played a draw with group leaders, France are about set to play laggers, Panama.
GWG.ng reports that the qualification from the group is still open following the development as Panama still has a chance of qualifying if they defeat Jamaica.
