Nigerian Political Leaders Flock Ekweremadu’s Son’s Wedding (Pictures)

Some of Nigeria’s leading political actors from across the divide were present on Saturday at the wedding of Lloyd Ekweremadu, son of the erstwhile deputy president of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu to his bride, Tiffany in Abuja.

Among those present were three former presidents of the Senate, Anyim Pius Anyim, David Mark and Bukola Saraki among other top chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP including Senator Dino Melaye, the PDP’s governorship candidate for Kogi State.

Chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC were also present at the wedding, which took place at Basilica of Grace Anglican Church, Gudu District, Abuja.

Among APC chiefs present at the wedding were Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu; Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, and Minister-designate, Senator David Umahi who came to stand solidarity with the Ekweremadus.

GWG.ng reports that Senator Ekweremadu one of the country’s leading political actors is along his wife, Beatrice incarcerated by the British authorities after they were found guilty of violating that country’s organ donation laws.

The two were found guilty alongside a doctor in their bid for an organ transplant for their ailing daughter, Sonia. GWG.ng reports that Senator Ekweremadu had written the British High Commission in Lagos seeking approval for the potential donor to travel to the UK for the process.
