Renowned movie producer Femi Adebayo has taken a decisive stance in the ongoing battle against piracy within the creative industry.

Through a poignant message posted on his Instagram account, Adebayo emphasized the urgency of safeguarding the Nigerian film sector, stating, “Piracy is a criminal offense that directly undermines the core of our creative industry… it is imperative that we shield the future of Nollywood by championing authentic creators.”

Displaying his resolute commitment to combat piracy, Adebayo has initiated a proactive campaign to identify and apprehend those responsible for pirating creative content. The latest development saw Adebayo and his dedicated team successfully apprehend a DVD vendor who had illicitly duplicated copies of his recently released cinematic masterpiece, Jagun Jagun.

Jocelyne Muhutu-Remy, Spotify’s Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, made this known in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos.

Muhutu-Remy said ‘Unavailable’ also remained the most exported track among 18 -24  year-olds.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Davido’s 17 track Timeless album was his fourth album which was released on March 31 and had set numerous streaming records since its debut.

She said spotify decided to release the data in honour of the artistes (Davido, Tiwa Savage, Tyla and Bruce Melodie) who performed extraordinarily during the inaugural Giants of Africa Festival, held in Kigali, Rwanda on Aug. 19.
