Plateau Speaker To Manage Funds, Appoints All 24 Members Committee Chairmen
The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Moses Sule has announced the constitution of 24 standing committees to manage the affairs of the 10th State Assembly with himself and his deputy heading the fund management.
The announcement was made on Tuesday during plenary with the Speaker and his Deputy, Gwottson Fom being assigned Chairman and Deputy Chairman respectively of Fund Management.
Besides, all members of the Plateau House of Assembly have been appointed chairmen of committees.
A statement issued and signed by the Press Secretary to the Speaker, Peter Tongshep, said that, shortly after pronouncing the Committees, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to “prepare the list of those who shall serve as Secretaries to the respective committees and submit to his office within the shortest possible time.”
Sule also warned that no Director shall be appointed to serve as secretary of any committee for whatever reason, adding that no committee shall also embark on an oversight function without the approval of the Speaker.
