JUST IN: Court Of Appeal Reinstates LP’s Okolie
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reinstated Ngozi Okolie, a member of the Labour Party, as the legitimate representative for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives elections.
This decision overturns the ruling of the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal, which had previously declared Ndudi Elumelu of the People’s Democratic Party as the winner of the election.
In a recent ruling, the Court of Appeal disagreed with the tribunal’s findings and affirmed that the Labour Party had indeed validly nominated and sponsored Ngozi Okolie as their candidate.
This decision effectively restores Okolie’s status as the duly elected representative for the constituency.
