Mohbad: Samklef Calls Out Banky W
Renowned Nigerian music producer and artiste, Samklef, has sent shockwaves through the online community with his revelation about fellow artiste, Banky W over actions related to the death of Mohbad.
Taking to Twitter, Samklef claimed that Banky W, like Naira Marley, had committed undisclosed wrongdoings during their collaboration.
In a series of tweets, Samklef called on all artistes to share their experiences dealing with label bosses who mistreated them. He specifically pointed out Banky W, suggesting that the singer-turned-pastor was involved in actions that needed to be brought to light.
“Banky W, the individual who initiated my personal cancel culture in 2012. And one of his friends in Soundcity. He is now a pastor lol,” Samklef revealed. He urged fellow artistes not to shy away from sharing their genuine experiences, emphasizing that the silence of many in the industry stemmed from their own involvement in similar situations. According to Samklef, these experiences were not merely verbal abuse but something deeper.

“I have forgiven, but I will still tell my story so that people can learn,” he declared.
He emphasized the importance of transparency and suggested that sharing such experiences was akin to the stories found in religious texts, highlighting the need for accountability in the industry.
Samklef’s revelations have ignited discussions online, with fans and fellow artistes eagerly awaiting more details over what Banky W did that may be worse than what those suspected of killing Mohbad. The incident has opened a window for artists to address issues of mistreatment, encouraging a culture of openness and accountability within the Nigerian music scene..
