Breaking: Ministerial Nominee Collapses During Senate Screening (Pictures)
The Senate screening of ministerial nominees presented by President Bola Tinubu was disrupted this afternoon after the nominee from Kaduna State, Balarabe Lawal suddenly collapsed during the exercise.
Lawal who served as Secretary to the Kaduna State Government during the Governor Nasir El-Rufai administration was presented to replace the former governor who failed to go through Senate confirmation.
GWG.ng reports that once he collapsed, Senate President Godswill Akpabio who was presiding immediately called for water and sugar to be administered on him. A panicked Senator Akpabio also immediately called for a Dr. Wale to come to the aid of the nominee.
The incident happened just after the nominee had finished reciting his profile and just when one of the senators from his local Kaduna State was about to ask him the first question.
