Four Southwest governors on Tuesday visited their ailing Ondo State colleague, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu who has been locked up in his Ibadan, Oyo State residence since his return from medical vacation in early September.

The meeting with Akeredolu came after Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde, received his three visiting colleagues from the South-West Governors’ Forum, namely Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, and Mr. Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, in his office, in Ibadan.

The governors met with the Oyo State governor behind closed doors.

Afterward, Governor Makinde and the visiting governors proceeded to the Ibadan residence of the Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.

The four governors equally went into a closed session with the Ondo State governor, who is the chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum.

Following the meeting, the Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, said the Forum is praying for Governor Akeredolu.

GWG.ng reports that the visit to the ailing Akeredolu came as Governor Makinde on Tuesday in Ibadan forwarded a bill for an upward review of the state’s 2023 approved budget to the Oyo State House of Assembly.

The bill was due to the twin policy measures of the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and the floating of foreign exchange rates by the Federal Government,

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bill has now scaled its first reading on the floor of the House.
