Cynthia Omowumi Aloba, the widow of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, appeared at the Candide-Johnson Court House in Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu, where she disclosed receiving death threats since her husband’s passing. Testifying during the hearing, Cynthia revealed that the threats started after her husband’s demise, prompting her to leave their shared residence due to safety concerns.

She stated, “A lot of people are defaming me on ‘TikTok,’ (a social media platform). I left my husband’s house because I am not safe there.”

Under cross-examination by Mohbad’s father’s lawyer, David Fadile, Cynthia clarified her relationship with her father-in-law, describing him as her best friend. She denied accusations of obtaining a Canadian visa but admitted that her late husband had wanted them to move to Canada due to alleged adversaries in Nigeria.

The widow who had known Mohbad for over a decade since their secondary school days, shared details about the events leading up to her husband’s tragic demise. She mentioned an altercation with an individual known as Prime Boy, during which Mohbad sustained an injury. Despite the injury, he hesitated to seek medical help due to past encounters with law enforcement and concerns related to Azeez Adeshina Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley.

During the cross-examination, Cynthia revealed that Mohbad’s friend, ‘Spending,’ had arranged for a nurse to administer injections to her husband. However, on the day of his passing, Mohbad was taken to multiple hospitals, with the final one pronouncing him dead.

Mohbad’s widow further disclosed that the deceased had severed ties with an individual named Micheal, also known as Mice, upon discovering he was an informant for Naira Marley. Mohbad suspected Mice of recording their conversations, particularly when discussing royalties owed to him by Naira Marley.

The case was adjourned to November 15 for further proceedings, leaving the online community eagerly awaiting updates on this unfolding legal matter.
