At least four lives have been lost in the wake of the recent Court of Appeal judgments sacking members of the Plateau State delegation to the National Assembly elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the former representative of Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Dachung Musa Bagos has said.

GWG.ng reports that Dachung Musa Bagos alongside two other lawmakers from Plateau State were recently sacked from the National Assembly under controversial circumstances over the use of pre-election issues allegedly targetted at the PDP on the Plateau.

During an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Dachung Musa Bagos conveyed his shock and outrage, drawing a poignant parallel between this incident and a military coup. However, the repercussions reached beyond politics, profoundly disheartening the people in his constituency and eroding their trust in the justice system.

The aftermath of this political upheaval extended far beyond the corridors of power; its impact resonated deeply within the community. Bagos recounted a heart-wrenching incident where a woman, upon hearing the news, collapsed while holding her baby. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she tragically succumbed to high blood pressure. This tragic episode vividly illustrates the human toll exacted by judicial decisions of such magnitude.

“The shockwaves from the judgment have had a profound and lasting effect on our community,” Bagos lamented, underscoring the extensive implications that reach beyond the political sphere. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the intricate connection between judicial outcomes and the lives of everyday people,” Dachung Musa Bagos said.
