Collation Of Results Still Ongoing In Kogi State 

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is currently collating results from Local Government Areas in the governorship election held in Kogi State.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are the main contenders in the Kogi State governorship election.

Recall that elections were held across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

The electoral body, however, stated that it received reports from its officials in the state on electoral malpractices.

According to the INEC, the incident of result sheets completed before voting was a major issue leading to the decision to suspend elections in some wards.

The places affected include Adavi, Ajaokuta, Ogori/Magongo, Okehi, and Okene Local Government Areas.

INEC said that the most serious incidents occurred in Ogori/Magongo, affecting nine of 10 Registration Areas.

However, results of other local government areas are being released.
