Breaking: Former UK Prime Minister, Dave Cameron Returns As Foreign Minister
Former UK prime minister, Dave Cameron is returning to government as foreign secretary, it emerged on Monday.
GWG.ng reports that the development came after major cabinet changes that followed the sack of Suella Braverman from her post as home secretary.
She was sacked following a controversial article she published last week in which she accused the Met Police of bias against Israel over its decision to allow the pro-Palestinian protests in London last week.
Mrs Braverman is seen as the standard bearer for the right in the UK government.
Following her sack, the foreign secretary, James Cleverly was announced as her replacement, leaving the post of foreign secretary vacant.
The position of foreign secretary is now to be filled by Dave Cameron who left parliament after he exited his position as prime minister in 2016.
To occupy the office, GWG.ng understands that he could be given a seat in the House of Lords to enable him join the cabinet.
Signs of Dave Cameron’s emergence as the new foreign secretary came after he arrived the seat of the government at Number 10 on Monday morning.
His return to the government could be seen in a way like President Goodluck Jonathan taking a job in the Bola Tinubu government.
