Critics Make Jest As APC Comrade Laments Soaring Prices Of Asthma Medication
An active member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sulaimon Olamide, has fervently appealed to the Nigerian government to address the escalating prices of medications for asthma patients, particularly following the departure of the pharmaceutical company, GSK.
Expressing his distress over the soaring costs of vital asthmatic drugs, namely the Seretide disk and Ventolin inhalers, Olamide, who is an asthmatic patient, lamented the financial strain imposed by the drastic price hikes. He disclosed that the Seretide disk, once priced at ₦8000, has now skyrocketed to ₦52,500, while the Ventolin Inhaler, previously ₦1500, has surged to ₦8,500.
Struggling to cope with the exorbitant prices on his ₦45,000 salary, Olamide pleaded with the government to intervene, emphasizing the critical nature of the medications for individuals with asthma. Many Nigerians urged him to directly reach out to the APC-led government, given his party affiliation.
