Helen Paul: How My Boss Tried To Stop My Husband From Dating Me

Popular Nigerian entertainer, Helen Paul, has revealed an interesting chapter from her past, sharing how her boss attempted to discourage her husband, Femi Bamisile, from dating her.

This revelation came during her appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, where she discussed the challenges faced during their courtship.

In recounting the incident, the 45-year-old comedienne turned professor disclosed that while working at Television Continental (TVC), her boss and the human resource personnel expressed disapproval of Bamisile as her choice for marriage. Her boss went to the extent of calling Bamisile and questioning his decision.

“My boss called my husband to say ‘Femi, is it that kind of Helen you want to date? You are more than this’. And he said ‘if you want to just enjoy yourself with her it is okay,” she shared.

Undeterred by the discouragement, Helen Paul took her then-boyfriend, Femi, to her office at TVC. To her surprise, the HR personnel scrutinized him, remarking, “Look at how clean you are. A lawyer. Why the choice of Helen?”

Despite the challenges, Helen Paul and Bamisile successfully navigated the obstacles and tied the knot in 2010. Their marriage has been blessed with children.
