The Hon Silas Tafir-Warwar led PDP Youth Congress, PYC has tasked justices of the Supreme Court presently considering governorship election petitions in Plateau, Nasarawa and Zamfara to ensure that they do not allow technicalities or other restraints to overshadow the voting intentions of the people.

In a statement made available to GWG.ng, the PDP youths urged the Supreme Court jurists to allow the intentions of the majority of voters in the three states to guide them in their decisions.

The statement of the PDP youths directed to the Supreme Court was issued by its director-general, Hon Silas Tafi-Warwar.

He said:

“As the eagerly anticipated judgments on the governorship elections in Zamfara, Plateau, Nasarawa, and Kaduna States approach, we, on behalf of the PDP Youth Congress wish to underhscore the vital importance of upholding the democratic will of the electorates.

“In the spirit of peace, equity, and the fundamental principles of democracy, we fervently urge Your Honors to consider the aspirations and choices of the people who exercised their right to vote in these critical elections. Democracy, as the bedrock of our nation, thrives when the voices of the citizens are heard and respected.

“We implore the esteemed justices to render judgments that reflect the genuine desires of the electorate, fostering an environment where democratic ideals flourish. Your decisions have a profound impact not only on the political landscape but on the faith and confidence that the citizens place in our judicial system.

“May the scales of justice tip in favor of a democratic outcome, promoting unity, peace, and equity across the affected states. Your commitment to ensuring a fair and just electoral process will undoubtedly contribute to the strengthening of our democratic institutions.

“In the collective pursuit of a better and more democratic Nigeria, we remain hopeful that your judgments will serve as a beacon of justice, guiding our nation toward a future characterized by stability, inclusivity, and the true representation of the people’s will.”
