Kanayo O Kanayo Reveals What He Does Before Entering Coffin In Movies (Video)
Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O Kanayo, has opened up about his approach to movie roles that require him to enter a coffin, shedding light on his perspective in a recent interview with the Eastern Eye.
The actor, often dubbed “Nnayi Sacrifice” due to his iconic roles, clarified that he doesn’t engage in sanctification rituals or binding unseen forces when portraying such characters.
Sharing a video snippet of the interview, Kanayo captioned it with a straightforward statement, expressing that when faced with a movie role involving a coffin, he simply plays his part and exits. He attributes his ability to handle such roles to the talent bestowed upon him by God.
“God gave me a talent. When I’m playing a role in a movie that involves going into a coffin. I do not sanctify myself or start binding unseen forces. I just play my role and get out,” Kanayo remarked.
During the interview, the seasoned actor emphasized that the characters he portrays in ritual-themed movies bear no connection to his real-life persona. He recounted an incident on a recent movie set where a fellow actress opted to pray before entering a coffin, to which Kanayo advised against, urging her not to mock God.
Explaining the nature of filmmaking as “make-believe,” Kanayo drew parallels with historical figures, stating, “The apostles of Jesus or disciples as you call them… this is what people do for a living.” He highlighted that his roles contribute to his livelihood and clarified that the titles like “Nna Anyi Sacrifice” bring attention to his name, ultimately benefiting his career.
