Renowned Nigerian TV presenter, Frank Edoho, has addressed speculations surrounding his departure from ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (WWTBAM),’ the iconic game show he hosted from its inception on October 8, 2004, until September 2, 2017.

Edoho clarified that he was not sacked, dispelling rumors that circulated before his return to the rebooted program announced last year.

In a recent Bants and Boujee podcast interview, Edoho expressed the need to correct the misconception after a troll attempted to taunt him with false claims of being fired. He emphatically stated, “Nobody has ever fired me in my career, and the employer that makes a mistake to leave me, they have always regretted.”

Edoho shed light on the circumstances that led to his return, revealing that a Twitter poll played a pivotal role. The poll, initiated by a Twitter user who listed four TV personalities, resulted in an overwhelming consensus that Frank Edoho was the “undisputed king of suspense on TV.” This unexpected turn of events coincided with the conclusion of 76 auditions for new hosts.

“When ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ came back, they did 76 auditions for new people. After the 76th audition, it just so happened that one day, one guy on Twitter just did a poll on ‘who is the king of suspense on TV?’ and he listed four of us,” Edoho explained. “And everyone replied that Frank is the undisputed king of suspense.”

The trending poll prompted a reconsideration, leading the organizers to abandon the ongoing auditions and reach out to Edoho to reclaim his role as the host of the revamped ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.’ This sequence of events highlights the unpredictable and influential power of social media in shaping decisions within the entertainment industry.
