The city of Ibadan, Oyo State capital, is buzzing with excitement and anticipation as a new radio station “Success FM,” makes a bold entry onto the airwaves.
This development has ignited a spirited competition among existing radio stations in Ibadan, particularly catching the attention of Yinka Ayefele’s Fresh FM.
Notably, three prominent On-Air Personalities (OAPs) from Fresh FM have made a noteworthy move to Success FM. Akinwale Fasansi, popularly known as Wiseman, along with the dynamic sportscaster, Babatunde Saheed (Mr. Sport), and Adesina Jagunmade, have left Fresh FM to join the lineup at Success FM.
The departure of these seasoned OAPs has become the talk of the town, leaving Fresh FM fans contemplating whether to follow their favorite presenters to the new station.
GWG.ng reports that the migration isn’t limited to Fresh FM alone. A presenter from IBR (Impact Business Radio) has also reportedly joined the Success FM team, adding another layer of intrigue to the emerging radio landscape in Ibadan.
Success FM, owned by Tope Odetayo, CEO of Top Success—a renowned gadgets and electronics seller—has quickly become a focal point of interest. The station’s broadcast repertoire cadre is marked by a blend of fresh talent and experienced voices, creating an appealing alternative for radio enthusiasts in the city.
Fresh FM, owned by the illustrious gospel and juju singer, Yinka Ayefele, now finds itself in a competitive position as it adjusts to the departure of key OAPs. The battle for listenership is underway, with Success FM aiming to carve its niche in Ibadan’s dynamic radio scene.
As fans weigh their options and the competition unfolds, the radio landscape in Ibadan is witnessing an intriguing chapter with Success FM’s entry, promising a new era of entertainment and information for its audience.
