Betta Edu’s ‘Disciples’ Under Pressure As Obidients Bay For Blood
A digital tempest is shadowing the suspension from duties of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Betta Edu with political critics descending on one of her most popular aides, Miss Chidinma Makuachukwu, popularly known as Ada Anambra, with a call from opposition political camps for her interogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
GWG.ng reports that Ada Anambra who was famously or infamously known for her online denigration of Peter Obi during and after the 2023 campaigns was appointed the National Program Manager for the Renewed Hope Shelter Program by the now-suspended minister of humanitarian affairs, Dr Edu.
GWG.ng reports that though born, brought up and married in Cross River State, Betta Edu is originally from Anambra State and remarkably worked in concert with Ada Anambra during the election campaign.
Ada Anambra was a member of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council’s New Media and Special Operations Directorate.
Her posts before and after Dr. Edu’s suspension, portraying compassion and assistance, particularly to families affected by the recent Plateau attacks have, however, drawn the interests of her enduring critics.
With the crisis over her boss unfolding, Ada Anambra who has an active social media presence had tweeted thus:
The timing of Ada Anambra’s updates sparked a flurry of questions and criticisms. Some keen-eyed commentators notably Obidients are demanding a thorough investigation, urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to scrutinize the activities of Ada Anambra alongside those of the suspended minister. This amplifies the complexities of navigating public perception and the nuances of public service.
The comments section of Ada’s posts, once a space for appreciation, has evolved into a battleground of opinions, with critics specifically targeting her for the swift succession of updates following the suspension of her boss.
One of Nigeria’s leading Obidients responding to Ada Anambra tweeted thus:
As the pressure intensifies, Ada Anambra remains silent unmoved by the threats of using the EFCC against her, adding a poignant layer to this unfolding digital narrative.
Amidst this storm, Ada’s posts, strategically placed before and after the minister’s suspension, illuminate the challenges of navigating the public eye. This narrative captures the essence of societal demands for ethical conduct and the complex dance of perception in the realm of public service.
