In a remarkable feat of endurance and skill, Sidhu Kshetri, a 42-year-old Indian software engineer and accomplished martial artist, has clinched the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest marathon punching a punch-bag, surpassing the previous record by a mere five minutes.

The official announcement from GWR on Tuesday revealed that Sidhu accomplished an impressive time of 55 hours and 15 minutes, a testament to his unwavering dedication and martial prowess. Leading up to this extraordinary achievement, Sidhu devoted six months to intensive preparation, dedicating eight hours daily to rigorous training.

His daily routine was a grueling yet disciplined endeavor, involving a four-hour training session from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., followed by another one in the evening. This exhaustive regimen underscores the mental and physical fortitude required to break such a demanding record.

In adherence to the rules governing ‘longest marathon’ records, Sidhu was allowed a five-minute rest break after every continuous hour of activity, with the option to accumulate these breaks if not taken immediately. During these brief respites, Sidhu could tend to basic necessities like eating, sleeping, or using the bathroom, highlighting the intensity of the challenge.

Notably, this latest world record marks a triumphant return for Sidhu over a decade after he last held one, specifically for the most martial arts kicks in three minutes using one leg (620), achieved in 2013. In 2011, he also set the record for the most martial arts kicks in one minute using a single leg (168). However, both records were later surpassed by Ahmad Amin Bodla from Pakistan. Undeterred, Sidhu expresses his intention to reclaim these records, showcasing his enduring spirit and commitment to pushing the boundaries of martial arts excellence.
