Approximately 60 guests were present, engaged in dancing when the floor gave way, resulting in injuries to 30 individuals. Tuscany’s regional governor, Eugenio Giani, highlighted that five of the injured were in critical condition.

In response to the collapse, a comprehensive emergency operation unfolded, involving over 100 workers from various services such as the fire department, police, and civil protection agency.

The immediate focus was on providing assistance and care to those affected by the incident. Fortunately, despite the severity of the collapse, no one was reported missing, and the injured were promptly transported to multiple hospitals in the region, including facilities in Florence.

The aftermath of this tragic event has left the community in shock, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding the floor collapse. As investigations are likely underway, the cause of this structural failure in the ancient building remains uncertain. This incident, which occurred during what should have been a joyous celebration, has prompted reflections on the safety and integrity of historic structures hosting public gatherings.

The local authorities and relevant agencies are expected to delve into the details to ascertain the factors contributing to the collapse. Meanwhile, the community is left grappling with the emotional aftermath of an event that turned a festive occasion into an unexpected and unfortunate incident, raising concerns about the structural stability of historical sites during events.
