FG Moves FAAN Abuja Headquarters To Lagos

In a significant development, the Federal Government has ordered the relocation of the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) from its new home at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to Lagos.

This marks a substantial shift for FAAN, an agency recently rooted in Abuja and responsible for managing airport operations and services across the nation, including oversight of 26 airports, five of which are international.

Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed, serving as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, leads FAAN.

Under his leadership, the agency encompasses various directorates and departments, ranging from ICT and Planning to Procurement, Corporate Affairs, Safety, and Commercial & Business Development, among others. FAAN has played a pivotal role in shaping and managing Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure throughout its rich history.

Despite the relocation announcement, FAAN’s headquarters address officially remains listed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, as of January 18th, 2024. The absence of an official change signals that any potential relocation process would involve meticulous planning and logistical efforts to facilitate a seamless transition of operations from Abuja to Lagos.
