Renowned Nigerian-American dancer and entertainer, Korra Obidi, recently opened up about her upbringing in Deeper Life Bible Church, shedding light on the strict religious atmosphere she grew up in. In an interview with News Central, she disclosed details about her conservative family background, revealing that she didn’t have pierced ears until the age of 14 due to the church’s influence.

“My family is a very conservative one; I grew up in Deeper Life Bible Church. I had no holes in my ears till I was 14 years old. Now, I have holes in places you don’t want to know. That’s what happens when you stop someone from doing what they want. I didn’t make any mistakes. I was supposed to be a lawyer,” Korra shared.

During the interview, Korra Obidi also discussed her book, where she openly admitted to cheating on her ex-husband, Justin Dean. She explained that being transparent about her experiences was a deliberate choice to avoid living in secrecy. She expressed no regrets, emphasizing that her honesty brought various revelations to light.

“If I had not said what I said, if I had not come through with my truth, it wouldn’t have brought out all the truths that came to light,” she stated. Korra highlighted that openly discussing her commitment issues before coming to America was a necessary step to avoid living a facade for public approval.

In March 2022, Justin Dean filed for divorce from Korra Obidi shortly after the couple welcomed their second child. The divorce proceedings played out publicly on social media, with both parties airing grievances. The divorce was finalized on November 19, 2022, with joint custody granted for their two daughters.

However, she faced another setback when her application for American citizenship was denied, a moment she shared in a heartbreaking video.
