Charly Boy Recounts Dramatic Rescue of Eedris Abdulkareem From 50 Cent’s Bouncers
In an episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, veteran Nigerian singer Charly Boy shared a remarkable tale of coming to the aid of fellow musician Eedris Abdulkareem during a confrontation with American rapper 50 Cent back in 2004.
Charly Boy revealed that he was in the midst of styling his hair when he received a distress call from Abdulkareem, informing him that he was being accosted by 50 Cent’s security personnel.
Without hesitation, Charly Boy abandoned his grooming session and swiftly mobilized a formidable force of motorcyclists—nearly 3,000 strong—to rush to the scene at Murtala Muhammed Airport where Abdulkareem was reportedly in trouble.
Upon arrival, Charly Boy was briefed by Abdulkareem on the altercation, prompting him to confront 50 Cent directly.
Recalling the tense encounter, Charly Boy explained, “Back then, if I was walking past the motorcycle park and I waved my hand, all the motorcyclists would follow me. So, I stormed the airport with almost 3000 bikes.”
According to Charly Boy’s account, Abdulkareem had been involved in a scuffle with 50 Cent’s bouncers after refusing to vacate his seat in first class, which the rapper’s security team deemed reserved for international artists only.
Asserting his authority, Charly Boy boldly approached 50 Cent’s SUV to address the situation directly. He recounted confronting the rapper, accusing him of assaulting Nigerian artistes on their home turf
