Hardship: APC Officially Exonerates Jonathan Govt From Total Blame

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has formally exonerated the last Peoples Democratic Party, PDP government of President Goodluck Jonathan of total blame for the problems presently engulfing the country.

In a departure from the chant of the last years where the Goodluck Jonathan government and the PDP were blamed for all the problems that the Muhammadu Buhari administration faced, the APC claims that the problems being faced by the nation were generational and could not be attributed to any specific government.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka made the assertion even as he nevertheless blamed the present opposition for playing politics with the difficulties in the land.

Speaking on Arise News TV’s News Night programme on Wednesday, Morka said that the present administration was taking appropriate but difficult measures to stem the problems the country is facing.

He said:

“We are doing exactly what we are supposed to do. The president is busy governing our country and enacting difficult policies but doing so because those policies are inevitable for any meaningful significant change or turnaround in the fundamentals of our national life.”

Noting that the problems Nigerians are facing are not unique to them but are global, Morka said:

“There is no country on earth, especially those that have a checkered history who have managed to prosperity who didn’t have these years of struggle, where people had to endure difficult times arising from the need to entrench policies that will (offer) sustainable growth.

“All of the problems that today, have culminated into the context were created generationally, they were not created by any specific government,” Mr Morka said in a dramatic departure that seemingly exonerated the Jonathan government from the chants of the immediate past when the APC blamed the last PDP government for all the nation’s problems.

Mr Morka said that the problems flowed mainly from the mono product economy.

He, however, blamed the present set of opposition leaders as led by Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi for mounting opposition to the Bola Tinubu government and supposedly playing politics with their assertions.
