A video circulating on social media has sparked intense speculations following a seemingly significant interaction between Vice President Kashim Shettima and Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State during a crucial meeting held at the State House in Abuja, Thursday January 15.

In the video, Vice President Shettima was observed making a subtle gesture to Governor Fubara, pointing him to extend greetings to his predecessor and the current Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, amidst the gathering focused on the nation’s affairs. The meeting, chaired by President Bola Tinubu, reportedly covered a wide range of national issues.

The exchange between Vice President Shettima and Governor Fubara has garnered attention due to the ongoing tension between Governor Fubara and Minister Wike. The protracted feud between the two political figures has been widely reported in the media and has become a subject of public interest.

GWG.ng had reported that Governor Fubara and Nyesom Wike have been embroiled in a heated political battle, with efforts at reconciliation proving futile despite interventions by President Bola Tinubu. Despite these attempts, the rift between them shows no signs of abating.

In his New Year address last month, Governor Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to resisting any attempts to undermine his authority as governor, particularly by his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, or any other party.

“I urge each of us not to be intimidated. The power remains in our hands, symbolized by this red pen,” declared Governor Fubara, holding up a symbolic red pen during a crossover church service, emphasizing his determination to continue governing Rivers State effectively.
