Protest Erupts Over Unpaid Salaries In Cross River (Video)
Civil servants under the aegis of the Cross River State Government have a protest over alleged failure of the government to pay their entitlement as at February 15, 2024.
GWG.ng reports that the workers mounted a protest at the office of the Secretary to the State Government, (SSG) on Thursday over the development.
The protesters who directed their complaints to the SSG claimed that when salaries were paid, some civil servants did not receive theirs.
A protester who pleaded anonymity said, “When they complained, we were asked to go to the SSG office with our names, computer number, and account details among others.
“When we got there, they did not tell us anything special, hence the agitation you are seeing in that video.”
The Civil servant added, “The hardship is killing some people already. That is with all this hardship and suffering, Dem no pay salaries o… Children are out of school, no food.”
