Lizzy Anjorin Raises Alarm Over Online Bullying

Controversial Nollywood figure Lizzy Anjorin has raised concerns about being targeted by certain blogs, whom she accuses of subjecting her to bullying through the promotion of false narratives.

Earlier this month, reports surfaced alleging that Anjorin had been involved in a gold theft incident at a market on Lagos Island. The actress vehemently denied these accusations, labeling the whole episode as a setup against her.

However, her troubles didn’t end there. Subsequently, she found herself embroiled in a land-grabbing controversy alongside her husband, Lateef Lawal. Fellow actress Faith Ojo initiated legal action against Lawal and others, seeking compensation of N30 million and a perpetual injunction against them.

Confirming the allegations, Ojo took to Instagram to assert their veracity. In response, Anjorin took to social media to express her frustration, calling out certain blogs for perpetuating what she perceives as fake stories, adding that such actions amount to bullying.

On February 9, six traders were arraigned in court for allegedly assaulting and blackmailing Anjorin. The presiding magistrate granted bail to each defendant but ordered them remanded in custody until bail conditions were met. The case is scheduled for mention on March 11.

Actor Yomi Fabiyi weighed in on the assault case, condemning violence and various criminal activities, including cyberbullying. He urged accountability from the government and social media platforms, particularly criticizing certain blogs for their unethical practices.

Fabiyi applauded Anjorin’s decision to seek legal redress instead of resorting to violence and emphasized the importance of justice in addressing societal wrongs. He called for responsible journalism and an end to anonymity in online platforms, advocating for a more ethical approach to reporting.
