Edo: Apostle Suleman’s Shadow Emerges As Azena Emerges NNPP Candidate
Pastor Azehme Azena, Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministry, has emerged as the elected Governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for the Edo 2024 governorship election following the party’s primary election held at Ugbor, GRA, Benin City, Edo State.
Formerly a governorship aspirant in the Labour Party, Pastor Azena switched allegiance to NNPP and secured victory with 211 votes out of 351, surpassing his competitors.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Senator Suleiman Abdulrahman, declared the results, revealing Azena’s lead over Peter Okigwaele (100 votes), Rev Sabastine Iyare (25 votes), and Balogun Alime (17 votes), with two invalid and one void vote.
Abdulrahman urged other aspirants to rally behind Pastor Azena to bolster NNPP’s chances in the upcoming September 21st election.
Expressing gratitude, Pastor Azena emphasized the need for unity within the party, pledging to reconcile with fellow aspirants for a cohesive campaign. He emphasized the absence of winners or losers, aiming instead to foster unity and confront opposing candidates collectively.
“I want to unite the party,” Pastor Azena affirmed. “No loser, no winner to me because we have lions and tigers to compete with. My first assignment is to restore unity within the party, addressing any grievances that may have arisen during the process.”
