Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has gone public using her Instagram handle to urge society to refrain from stigmatizing divorcees and single mothers.

In an Instagram post, Rita Edochie, cautioned against hastily labeling individuals based on their marital status and emphasized the need for empathy and understanding.

Edochie challenged the notion that a woman’s ability to sustain a marriage automatically equates to responsibility. She argued that there are countless divorcees and single mothers who exemplify exceptional levels of responsibility, resilience, and resourcefulness, despite the circumstances surrounding their separation.

The actress emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of single mothers and divorcees, describing them as breadwinners and productive members of society. She emphasized that a woman’s worth should not be determined solely by her marital status, as there are myriad factors that contribute to one’s character and integrity.
