Pastor Arraigned For Sexually Abusing And Impregnating His Daughter

Emmanuel Orekoya, a pastor affiliated with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), found himself before the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on February 27, 2024.

The charges against the pastor are grave and disturbing: he stands accused of raping and impregnating his own 17-year-old daughter. This harrowing ordeal allegedly unfolded at their residence on Jacob Adeleye Street, Odoeran, in the Itire area of Lagos State, sometime in 2017.

The Lagos State Government, represented by prosecution counsel Mrs. Abimbola Abolade, has raised two counts against Orekoya: unlawful sexual intercourse and sexual assault.

 The details provided in court paint a grim picture of the alleged abuse. It is reported that Emmanuel Orekoya not only forced himself upon his daughter but also engaged in other acts of sexual violation, including inserting his finger into her vagina and his penis into her mouth.

These actions, as described by the prosecutor, flagrantly contravene Section 137 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.

Despite the severity of these accusations, Emmanuel Orekoya has entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.

The case has been adjourned until April 17, 2024, when the trial is set to commence under the watchful eye of Justice Soladoye.
