Jake Paul To Fight Mike Tyson In Live Netflix Boxing Event
Jake Paul is gearing up for a showdown with former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson in a boxing extravaganza slated to stream live on Netflix.
Scheduled for July 20 at Texas’s AT&T Stadium, the match will be accessible to all Netflix subscribers. Details about the co-main event and undercards will be disclosed later. The event is a collaborative effort between Netflix and Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), co-founded with Nakisa Bidarian.
This isn’t the first time Paul and Tyson have shared a boxing card. In 2020, Paul fought on the pay-per-view where Tyson made his comeback against Roy Jones Jr. Paul secured victory with a knockout against Nate Robinson, marking his second professional win.
Since his debut in January 2020, Paul has amassed a record of 9 wins, 1 loss, including 6 knockouts. His latest triumph was against Ryan Bourland via TKO on March 2. Meanwhile, Tyson boasts an impressive pro record of 50 wins, 6 losses, and 44 knockouts.
Reflecting on his journey, Paul remarked, “It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard.” He expressed excitement about facing Tyson and the opportunity to prove himself against the boxing legend.
Tyson, equally enthusiastic about the bout, shared, “I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul… It’s a full circle moment.” He acknowledged Paul’s growth as a boxer and anticipated an exhilarating clash.
Legal representation for Most Valuable Promotions and Paul was handled by Michael B. Abramson of Solomon Ward, while Tyson was represented by Andrew Ruf at Paradigm.
Netflix’s foray into live sports continues with this event, following recent broadcasts of tennis and golf matches. The streaming giant is also poised to become the weekly home of WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” starting in 2025.
