Ambode’s Chef Sent To Correctional Centre Over Theft Allegations

Victor Abayomi, the former chef of Akinwunmi Ambode, ex-governor of Lagos State, is in trouble after being accused of stealing ⁿvaluables worth millions from Ambode’s residence in Ikoyi.

This allegation has led to Abayomi’s remand at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre by the Sabo-Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday. The Chief Magistrate, Peter Nwaka, ordered his remand for 30 days, with the case adjourned until April 8 for further investigation and presentation of facts.

Abayomi, whose residential address was not disclosed, faces charges of conspiracy and theft.

According to the legal officer, Joshua Babalola, employed by the State Security Service (SSS), Abayomi and others, who are still at large, were accused of committing the offenses at Ambode’s residence. Babalola alleged that Abayomi absconded to Old Garage in Molorundo Local Government Area, Osun State, after the theft, where he was arrested by Ambode’s SSS team on March 7.

The prosecution claims that Abayomi made away with valuable items worth millions of naira from Ambode’s residence in Ikoyi. These alleged actions violate sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The severity of the charges underscores the gravity of the accusations against Abayomi and the legal implications he faces.
