Edo APC Ticket: Their Picture Says It That Okpebholo, Idahosa Will Fight Soon – X Users

Members and non-members alike were on Monday predicting a fight between the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo and his running mate, Rep Dennis Idahosa following their reconciliation.

GWG.ng reports that ahead of the reconciliation between the rival politicians who fought bitterly for the party’s governorship ticket Idahosa was expected to withdraw the court action he filed to stop the APC from fielding Okpebholo.

It would be recalled that the Governor Hope Uzodimma-led election panel had initially returned Idahosa in the first primary leading to a rebellion within the party forcing a repeat that produced Okpebholo. Idahosa had in response resorted to the courts to fight off the party from forwarding Okpebholo as the candidate.

However, following interventions by the presidency supposedly at the behest of the camp of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Idahosa has now been brought forward as the running mate.

However, the development has been met with questions and doubts with many within the party and outside predicting that the two men would sooner than later erupt into a leadership crisis perhaps worse than that between Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu.

GWG.ng gathered some of the reactions with some inferring that even the facial expression of Okpebholo during the meeting with Idahosa and party leaders showed his resistance to the forced pairing and prospects of a fight should they win the main election.

The year is 2024 We continue this way. We are inevitably going to remain a 3rd world underdeveloped country for another 100 years.

There is no hope in sight at least for the people of Edo state

Oreofe @megagbasgbos

Why Edo no dey get handsome political leaders. I think INEC should include it as a requirement to contest elective positions in Edo State. May be this will work.

Alex @AlexOkeyObasy

From HoR to deputy governor, how do you think

BodeMaxwell @bode_maxwell

Accepting to be a deputy governorship candidate is a smart move by Idahosa. He’s a step closer to becoming the governor of the state, max 8 years from now.

Uchenna @Uche4United

A House of Rep member becoming a Deputy Gov just to be in power.  Another fight between Gov  n Deputy Gov has been arranged for future fights

OYO MEESI @abi4u2011

Lol at leaving his rep seat to become a deputy governor with no power nor any constitutional role. Big mistake

The political dexterity of Umah Ganduje should be commended. From the time he assumed the Chairmanship position of APC the party has been in upward trajectory. Kudos to him for swinging into action in bringing to an end what could have been a Banana peel to an end.

Adewale Macshatty @macshattyagain

If APC wins the forthcoming election Edo which I prayed for, the government is going to have leadership issues ……
