Mixed Reactions Trail Governor’s Displeasure On Quality Of Ramadan Food (Video)

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has voiced his dissatisfaction with the execution of the State Ramadan Feeding Programme during an unannounced visit to one of the centres in the Municipal Local Government Area.

Expressing his disappointment, Governor Yusuf raised concerns about the quality and quantity of food being provided to beneficiaries, alleging sabotage in the process. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the standards approved by the government and ensuring transparency in the utilization of public resources.

During the visit, Governor Yusuf inspected the food being cooked and packaged for distribution, highlighting discrepancies between the approved standards and the actual implementation. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to accountability and warned against dishonesty and mismanagement in public projects.

In response to the situation, Governor Yusuf directed his Chief of Staff, Shehu Wada Sagagi, to monitor the programme closely and provide daily updates on its progress.

The Ramadan Feeding Programme has been met with public outcry, with concerns raised about the effectiveness and transparency of its implementation. Despite a budget allocation of N6 billion for the initiative, reports of loopholes and mismanagement have surfaced, prompting calls for greater oversight and accountability.

While some argue that the programme is essential for supporting vulnerable communities during the holy month of Ramadan, others question its necessity and suggest redirecting funds towards more impactful projects with broader benefits for the state
