United Dream For Top-Four Finish: GWG’s Complete Preview Of PL Match Day 29

After a fun-filled international break, the Premier League is back with a bang with eight matches on Match Day 29.

The finish line is now in sight and it promises to be an exciting couple of months as the title and relegation places are still very much up for grabs. We resume the season run-in with huge game this weekend as Manchester City host Arsenal in an absolute blockbuster. Liverpool host Brighton and will hope to heap the pressure on the other 2 sides in the title race with a win. Elsewhere, Everton and Luton have away trips to Bournemouth and Spurs respectively. 

Here is a preview of Saturday’s Premier League Match Day 29 fixtures:

Newcastle vs West Ham United

West Ham will travel to St. James park to face Newcastle in a clash which could be decisive in the chase for the top four and Champions League football this season. The Hammers can keep up their push for a European spot with a win against a Newcastle side who look beset with injuries. The Magpies will be without Sandro Tonali, Joelinton, Nick Pope, Callum Wilson, and Sven Botman, whilst West Ham go into the game with no fresh injury concerns. The away side’s attacking talent should be able to break down a recently porous Newcastle defence.

Brentford vs Manchester United

Erik Ten Hag’s side went into the international break with a huge boost of confidence after knocking Liverpool out of the FA Cup in dramatic fashion, but will have to follow up that result with a tough trip to the Gtech Stadium – which has not been a happy hunting ground in recent memory. The Bees who have their captain Ivan Toney in fine form in front of goal after getting his first international goal for England, will be looking to put up a fight against yet another ‘big 6’ side. 

Chelsea vs Burnley

Chelsea go into the game hoping to boost their hopes of a top seven finish in the Premier League on Match Day 29, as they welcome relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday afternoon to Stamford Bridge. The Blues come off the back of two wins back-to-back at home against Newcastle United and Leicester City, standing them in good stead against Vincent Kompany’s side – who after a run of four straight losses and a draw, earned a vital win against Brentford in their last outing in the Premier League.

Tottenham vs Luton Town

Off the back of a disappointing 3-0 loss to Fulham in their last game, Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs will be looking to bounce back to winning ways against Premier League newcomers Luton Town. Spurs managed a narrow 1-0 win when both sides met at the start of the season, but for a Luton who are fighting to maintain top flight status, they could put up a fight. 

Everton vs Bournemouth 

One player who could make a big difference in this bottom half clash is certainly Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo. The Black Star has scored 7 league goals for Bournemouth this season and will be looking to add to that tally and lead his side to yet another victory. Everton on the other hand, have every match to play for this season after a four-point deduction was handed them by the English FA. 

Sheffield United vs Fulham

With just 14 points all season, the Blades look all but relegated this campaign in what has been a disastrous return to Premier League football and on Match Day 29 their trajectory is hardly expected to change. They come up against in-form Fulham who defeated Spurs 3-0 last time out but cannot boast about their away form as they have won just one out of their last 13 away games. 

Aston Villa vs Wolves

Unai Emery’s chargers are flying this season, sitting in 4th and ready to book their ticket to the UEFA Champions League next season. They will be looking to brush aside a Wolves team who are depleted from a shocking exit from the FA Cup to championship side Conventry City. Villa’s Ollie Watkins is definitely one player who can stand out as he boasts of quite impressive numbers this season, amassing a total of 26 goal contributions in just the league. 

Nottingham Forest Vs Crystal Palace

Forest became the second side this season to suffer a points deduction, a decision which has placed them in the relegation zone. They will be looking for all three points as they host the Eagles at City Ground. Palace on the other hand, are unbeaten under new management of Austrian boss Oliver Gasner.
