Police Officer Arrested For Killing Pregnant Girlfriend

A 27-year-old Durban Metro Police officer stands accused of fatally stabbing his pregnant girlfriend, who was also a fellow officer, inside her flat in Durban.

The shocking incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning,March 31st on Joseph Nduli Street, has sent shockwaves through the community.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the suspect allegedly took videos and pictures of his girlfriend’s final moments as she succumbed to her injuries and distributed them online, adding a disturbing layer to the already harrowing situation.

Reports indicate that the couple had been consuming alcohol prior to the altercation, though the exact motive behind the stabbing remains unclear. While substance abuse may have played a role in the suspect’s actions, further investigation is needed to determine the underlying cause.

The tragic loss of both the victim and her unborn child has left the community reeling, with many grappling to come to terms with the senseless act of violence. As authorities continue their investigation, the suspect is slated to appear in court today, Tuesday April 2nd, facing charges related to the heinous crime.
