Abuja In Shock Over Double Murder Of Elderly Couple

In a heartbreaking incident, an elderly couple, Adebola Ezekiel, 80, and his wife, Abiodun Ezekiel, were discovered deceased in their residence in the Apo area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja. Their lives were tragically cut short by unknown attackers, leaving the community in shock.

The distressing event unfolded on Monday night at the upscale Apo Legislative Quarters, around 11 pm. The assailants, wielding a dagger, brutally slit the throats of the elderly man and his wife, who was also confined to a wheelchair.

Speaking on the harrowing discovery, a concerned resident, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted the grim scene: “One of the man’s sons reached out to a neighbor for assistance after repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact his parents. Upon arrival, the neighbor found the door locked and, upon the son’s instructions, forced it open. Inside, they were met with a horrific sight—the elderly couple lying lifeless in a pool of their own blood.”

Confirming the tragic incident, FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, revealed that FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, personally visited the crime scene. “We confirm the incident happened, and the Commissioner of Police personally visited the crime scene,” stated SP Adeh.

In response to the heinous crime, Commissioner Igweh has instructed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to launch an immediate and discreet investigation. “The outcome will be communicated to you immediately,” assured the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), emphasizing the commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
