Trader Lures Mentally Ill Boy With N30 Sweet To Sodomise Him

A tragic incident unfolded in Bauchi State as Sanusi Umar, a 23-year-old trader specializing in garden eggs, was arrested by the police for allegedly sodomizing a mentally disabled 10-year-old boy.

According to SP Ahmed Wakil, the Police Spokesperson in Bauchi, the suspect reportedly lured the young boy with a promise of N30 worth of sweets before leading him to an isolated area behind the AIB filling station along Kofar Ran, where the heinous act occurred.

The police officers attached to Operation Restore Peace (ORP) in Bauchi State apprehended the suspect on March 28 at 2100hrs following the incident.

“The suspect lured the minor with a thirty naira (N30) sweet and asked the victim to accompany him to an isolated area behind the AIB filling station along Kofar Ran and sodomised him,” SP Ahmed Wakil stated.

Following his arrest, the victim was taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital for medical evaluation to determine his health status.

While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have affirmed their commitment to ensuring justice for the victim. Once the investigation is concluded, the suspect will be charged to court to face appropriate legal consequences for his alleged actions.
